Welcome to Our Lady’s College. We are a Catholic Secondary College for girls administered by Brisbane Catholic Education. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1964, we take as our motto and challenge, “Ad Altiora” (Ever Higher). We follow the example of Blessed Mary MacKillop and hope to imbue in our girls the spirit of justice, compassion, integrity and service. As our Mission Statement indicates, our College has a friendly and caring environment ...
Reporting Legislative Requirements
Our Lady’s College is compliant with the mandated requirements regarding reporting on student progress and achievement. In summary, we provide:
1. Parent – Teacher – Student interviews twice a year, in both Term 2 and Term 3.
2. A written report is provided to the parent twice a year at the end of each semester. This report includes an overall result using a five-point scale.
If the report is criteria-based, the five point scale uses an A-E scale.
If the report is outcomes-based, the five-point scale uses labels. These labels indicate how the student has achieved in relation to the expected level of achievement for a typical student in that year level at that time in the learning continuum. This is based on the opportunities provided by the college for students to demonstrate outcomes at different levels.
Standard Descriptors and Labels
| Standard Descriptors (required) | Labels |
| Achieving well above the expected level | Well Above Expected Level |
| Achieving above the expected level | Above Expected Level |
| Achieving at the expected level | Expected Level |
| Achieving below the expected level | Below Expected Level |
| Achieving well below the expected level | Well Below Expected Level |
A matrix is available for parents at the college office showing how labels are determined for each Key Learning Area or subject in Years 8 - 10.
3. Information is provided on a student’s achievement relative to the student’s peer group. At the bottom of this page you can view by selecting the required link the percentage of students in each of the achievement levels across the five point scale for each Key Learning Area or subject listed.
Please do not hesitate to contact the college if you require further information.
