Academic Excellence

Our Lady’s College 049.JPGAt Our Lady's, the pursuit of excellence encompasses all dimensions of college life and students are supported to achieve their academic potential.

Over the years, the College has enjoyed a consistently strong record in the School Certification, National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests and Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) examinations.

In 2019 Our Lady's was recognised by The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) for achieving above average gain in our Year 9 NAPLAN reading results.

The data measured tracked the results of students who were in Our Lady's College for the Year 7 NAPLAN tests in 2016 against their improvement in the Year 9 tests two years later.

The significant improvement between the two tests is testament to the professionalism and dedication of Our Lady's hard-working staff.

The College has also demonstrated academic excellence in our senior years.

In the past four years, on average, approximately 80 per cent of Our Lady's OP eligible graduates achieved an OP 1-15.

These results reflect our commitment to quality teaching and equipping girls with the skills to translate their learning into academic success.

In 2020, the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) will replace the Overall Position (OP) as the standard pathway to tertiary study for Queensland Year 12s.
