Why girls only?

​​It may sound simple to say; girls’ schools are specialists in girls’ education. It is often quoted that, generally, girls outperform boys consistently in terms of academic progress. Whilst this may be a somewhat blanket statement, it is as important to be aware of. 

Research indicates that there are quite significant differences in cognitive, social and growth rates of girls and boys, around the ages of 12 to 16.
Brain development in boys and girls is quite different. At Our Lady’s College, our experienced teachers understand and know how to accommodate the specific developmental needs of girls.​
